Solids Flowmeter
The MaxxFlow flowmeter is designed to measure
medium to high flow rates (10–400 tph) of powders,
pellets, and granules. In the past, only complex
mechanical systems such as impact flowmeters and
weigh feeders could perform this task. However,
advanced technology in electromagnetic velocity mea-
surement and microwave concentration has produced
an open, cross-sectional spool piece less than 16 in.
long. This meter can fit anywhere in a process under
free-fall or sliding conditions with no straight-run
requirements. The system is well suited for truck and
railcar loadouts or for performing process measure-
ments after rotary valves, screw feeders, bucket
elevators, or air chutes have been used. Accuracy
is ±1–3% with repeatability to 0.2%.

Laser Transmitter
The Laser Trak80 (LT80) is a high-performance
laser transmitter that can accurately measure level,
distance, and position over long ranges in extreme
environments. The LT80 features advanced timing and
sophisticated signal processing for pinpoint accuracy
at up to 100 ft ( 30 m) in level applications and 500 ft
(150 m) in positioning applications.

Ultrasonic Level
The Ultra 5 ultrasonic level transmitter
allows users to choose their application
using the new Ultra Wizard programming
menu. The choices are level, volume, pump
control, differential level, and open-channel
flow. The Ultra 5 comes standard with five
relays and a 4–20-mA output, and it can
measure a range up to 132 ft depending on
the dB transducer used. When employed as
a flowmeter, the device’s accuracy is ±1 mm
for flumes and weirs. Optional digital com-
munications methods include Profibus, Modbus RTU, and Ethernet.
